Originating from the coastal and Malnad regions of Karnataka (particularly the districts of Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, and Dakshina Kannada), this story is traditionally performed as a Tullu —a semi-dance, semi-dramatic folk art form. Unlike the more classical Yakshagana, Tullu is spontaneous, humorous, and often satirical.
